Silicon Valley Bank and the Rural Land Market

Recent news surrounding Silicon Valley Bank has individuals questioning where to park their cash, where to invest, and what could happen next. At a time where we’re seeing economic uncertainty and rampant inflation, rural land continues to be a stable investment that is continually appreciating, making it arguably the best place you can park your money for the time being. As the world changes around us every single day, and we experience hard times or uncertainty as a nation, there is one thing that has proved to be certain: the investment into land is not only one of the safest places to invest during economic uncertainty, but it can provide raw enjoyment and fulfillment in the midst of life’s storms.

Let’s take the last few years as an example. Investing in the stock market has seemed like a roller coaster ride for the average American due to the unpredictability of not only foreign leaders around the world, but also the decision-making of our politicians here in the United States. We’re seeing carefully constructed campaigns that attempt to create division, while businesses large and small are being forced to publicly declare their allegiance to certain sides of hot topics. These corporate decisions made in the midst of “cancel culture” and “wokeness” all have an effect on company objectives, consumer confidence, and what we see and hear on the news, leaving your once stable investment into these companies feeling more like a trial-run at the slot machine. In the midst of this turmoil, quietly and consistently, land is proving time and time again (like it always has) to be a solid, appreciating investment and a safe place to park your cash, as opposed to gambling on the stock market, or trusting your hard-earned money in the bank.

Aside from the financial gain that comes from owning land, it’s becoming increasingly clear to the world, especially post-pandemic, why land is the ultimate investment. The uses for rural land are nearly limitless, and the enjoyment from it is limitless. Where do you go to escape the seemingly never-ending crime, sickness, protesting, pollution, and everyday work-grind? You go to the country, to land that you’ve invested in. Whether you’re into hunting, hiking, fishing, horseback riding, bonfires, camping, kayaking, ATV-riding, gardening, farming, ranching, bird-watching, butterfly-catching or any of the gazillion other things you can think of, you realize that there truly is no better investment.

I’d be willing to bet that you won’t remember the time you bought a stock, hoping and praying that it would be unaffected by a world that seems to be spiraling out of control. I’d also be willing to bet that you don’t want to be one of the people directly impacted by the collapse of a bank that you trusted with your money. However, if you’re willing to take a chance on land ownership, I can promise you that the memories will far outweigh the financial gain that comes along with investing in a slice of rural heaven. I don’t know about you, but I don’t know of any other investments that will enhance not only your net-worth, but your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, all at the same time. We’re blessed to be in a business that is designed to help folks attain that.
